The Alliance for a Healthier Generation

The mission of this non-profit organization is to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity by 2015 through outreach to children in their homes, schools, doctor’s offices, and communities.  The alliance partners with leaders in the food, beverage, fitness, and healthcare industries as part of creating a healthy environment for children at school, at home, and in the community.  The alliance recently received a $23.2 million grant to continue to expand its Healthy Schools Program through 2014.
