MyPlate

To convey a quick, simple visual image of the healthy eating messages in the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, the U.S. Department of Agriculture introduced the MyPlate icon in June 2011. The place setting graphically demonstrates that half your plate should be grains and protein and half fruits and vegetables, along with a serving of dairy products.

MyPlate replaces the MyPyramid image. However, MyPyramid will remain available to interested health professionals and nutrition educators in a special section of the new website.
