Recipe of the month
Couscous with Roasted Vegetables

5 Quick Ways to Treat Your Sweet Tooth

  • Try a tasty variation of s'mores: melt marshmallows, reduced-fat peanut butter and mashed bananas between two graham crackers.

  • Make brownie kabobs for mini treats - perfect for parties and snack time. Simply cut cooled brownies into 1-inch cubes and skewer onto toothpicks, alternating brownie cubes with thin slices of strawberry and whole, pitted cherries.

  • Bring the sweetness of the Mediterranean into your home. Mix prepared couscous (naturally low in fat, it takes as little as five minutes to make) with milk and raisins. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve warm. Great for breakfast or dessert.

  • Jazz up traditional strawberry shortcake by topping individual round shortcakes with a scoop of low-fat frozen yogurt. Drizzle with strawberries and serve.

  • Thinly slice your favorite flavor of bagel. (Try raisin, plain or wheat.) Toast until crispy, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and enjoy with a glass of low-fat milk.
