Q. - Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies |

Ingredients: |

1 pound, 12 ounces granulated sugar |
 |
|
1 pound margarine |
 |
|
4 eggs |
 |
|
1 pound, 14 ounces whole wheat flour |
 |
|
4 teaspoons baking powder |
 |
|
2 teaspoons baking soda |
 |
|
2 teaspoons salt |
 |
|
2 teaspoons nutmeg |
 |
|
3/4 cup milk, skim |
 |
|
4 teaspoons vanilla extract |
 |
|
1/4 cup orange peel, grated |
|
 |
 |
|
1/2 cup sugar |
 |
|
1 tablespoon cinnamon |
 |
|
|

Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. |
 |
|
Cream together 4 cups of sugar and the margarine. Then beat in the eggs, until |
|
mixture is light. |
 |
|
|
 |
|
Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and nutmeg together thoroughly. |
|
Then add dry mixture to the creamed mixture. |
 |
|
|
 |
|
Add milk, vanilla and orange peel. Blend well. |
 |
|
|
|
 |
|
Mix together the cinnamon and remaining sugar. Drop 1-inch cookie dough balls |
|
into the mixture. Place the balls on lined cookied sheet and flatten them. |
 |

|

|
Bake the sheets in a conventional oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies |
|
are golden brown. If using a convection oven, set the temperature at 350 degrees |
|
F. Cool the cookies on racks. |
 |
