Pizza Puffs
Ingredients:
1 – 10 ounce can refrigerated pizza dough
1/4 cup pizza sauce
1 cup grated part skim mozzarella or cheddar cheese
12 to 14 slices pepperoni (optional)
Directions: Preheat oven to 375°F.

Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to ⅛-inch thickness. Using a round cookie cutter or glass 3-inches in diameter, cut circles of dough. (re-roll leftover dough).

Place ˝ teaspoon of pizza sauce in the center of each circle – do not spread. Top with a slice of pepperoni and 1 teaspoon of cheese. Wrap dough around filling and pinch shut. Place seam side down on a greased cookie sheet. Brush tops lightly with water or an egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water).

Bake for 15 to 17 minutes until lightly browned. Serve warm. To reheat, place on medium heat in microwave oven for about 5 seconds per puff.
Servings: 12 -14 puff balls

Nutrition: Each serving (1 puff) provides approximately: 98 calories, 5 g protein, 9 g carbohydrates, 1 g fiber, 4 g fat (2 g saturated), 8 mg cholesterol, 1 mcg folate, 1 g iron, 284 mg sodium.
