Can cake flour be substituted for in a recipe?
Yes, you can substitute all-purpose or graham flour (which is fine ground whole wheat flour) in place of cake flour. To equal 1 cup cake flour: 7/8 cup of all-purpose flour (7/8 cup is 1 cup minus 2 tablespoons). To substitute whole wheat flour for 1 cup cake flour, use 3/4 whole wheat flour plus 1/2 cup cornstarch.
